Lois Jeanette Heim (born 1918)
Lois Heim is a Minnesota artist and wife of celebrated artist Harry Heim. They had been married for 74 years when Harry passed away in 2017 at the age of 99.
Lois (class of 1940) and Harry (class of 1941) met at the Minneapolis School of Art (now known as MCAD). Lois would often tell the story of how they solidified their friendship and relationship in life in a drawing class when Harry had gotten some oil paint on his ear and she wiped it off.
The Heim’s, along with several dozen Minneapolis School of Art students from the 1940s and 1950s, finally received their BFA degrees on July 21, 2012, in a graduation ceremony held at MCAD. This was necessary due to the fact that these degrees were not given out at the time they attended the school.
