Peter Lommen

 

Peter Lommen received his B.F.A. degree in 1979 and M.F.A. degree in 1984 from the University of Minnesota. He has extensively exhibited his artwork, both regionally and nationally, since 1972.  Lommen has also worked in the fields of Art education and Science education. 

 

Art Perspective: “My visual art is inspired by themes referencing: the celestial beauty of the night sky; the visual poetry of women’s vintage costume design; musical composition influencing visual composition/visual composition evoking musical composition; observations of nature as essential inquiry; and my love for the scientific disciplines of astronomy, cosmology, paleontology, and geology.” 

 

“Exploring the deep femininity of my creativity and creative process, the archetypal images of women represent a form of metaphorical self-portraiture, a woman’s improvisational journey through the intuitive conscious/unconscious expansive grandeur, labyrinthine mystery, and empowering spiritual dimensions of an inner creative feminine principle, sacred feminine energy, and deeply lived feminine resonance.”
